Three days each residential program in Camera Operation, Video Editing, Short Film and Animation Film making was organized by Sat Sewa Sanchar (Commission for Media and Communication), Diocese of Jalandhar. It was conducted in the auspices of PSPF and SIGNIS (The World Catholic Association for Communicaiton) around 40 youth and media persons participated from various parts of the diocese especially Jalandhar, Ludhaina, Hoshiarpur, Kapurthala, Kotkapura, adampur and Amritsar took active participation at Gianodaya, Pastoral Centre Chogitty, Jalandhar from 11th to 19th October 2021. The Prarthana Bhawan TV staff was also present for the workshops.

A nine days workshop specially focused on Camera Operation, Video Editing, Short Film and Animation Film making. The workshops had the presence of the renowned resource persons from India namely: Ashwani Dixit, Sanjay Bharti, Dr. Martin Sadiq, Mr. Suresh Bhagat and Sunny Rattu.

The Chief Guest of the inaugural session was Rt. Rev. Dr. Agnelo Rufino Gracias (Apostolic Administration of the Diocese of Jalandhar, who delivered the keynote address to the participants about the importance of the media and communication and asked them use the media in a positive and progressive manner for building up the communities of faith.

Dr. Martin Sadiq, Director of Sat Sewa Sanchar (Commission for Mass Media & Communications, Diocese of Jalandhar) welcomed the dignitaries, the resource persons and the participants to the workshops and shared about the significance of the workshop for the youth and media persons on the use of Camera and Short Film making and motivated the members to adopt the media skills as a professional media persons.

Introducing the workshop of the day Mr. Ashwani Dixit (Editor, Graphic and Animation Trainer) from New Delhi, gave a detailed explanation on Camera Operation, mainly focusing on the Basics of Handling the Cameras. He explained them the operational part of the DSLR and HD Cameras and its multiple possibilities of covering the objects. He also shared with them his knowledge and expertise of the field. With the help of Videos he guided the participants how to create the Animations.

Mr. Sanjay Bharti (Delhi based film director and script writer) taught the participants of film making and explained them in details about the script writing, screenplay, dialogue writing and taught them the ways of shooting the Short Films through HD cameras and smart phones. The essential area of workshop was the practical session wherein participants were divided into different groups. They were asked to shoot the Short Films on their own behalf and to perform stage dramas. This helped the participants to identify within them the hidden talents and to bring them forth their betterment. All were very happy with different interactive sessions which gave them confidence and creativeness for handling the smart phones for further creativities and professionalism.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Mr. Suresh Bhagat and Mr. Sunny Rattu (Jalandhar based online live video editors), Mr. Suresh Bhagat enhanced the knowledge of editing, project creating and audio synchronization of the participants. While Mr. Sunny Rattu explained the color correction, timeline information and video based on the resolution of the timeline. Then both of them gave detailed information about chroma cutting, video smoothing, masking, adjusting frame rates, video effects and how to export the project.

The questions pertaining to Camera Operation, Video Editing, Short Film and Animation Film making were cleared by the resource persons Dr. Martin Sadiq, Ashwini Dixit, Sanjay Bharti, Mr. Suresh Bhagat and Sunny Rattu as per their topics. The participants were rewarded for their creativity and performances. Feedback and suggestions were also taken into the consideration. Dr. Martin Sadiq, Director of Sat Sewa Sanchar felicitated the resource persons by memento and a shawl. At the same time the participants were given a Certificate of participation in Camera Operation, Video Editing, Short Film and Animation Film making.
