Nov. 28, 2017: Ambassa: On November 9, 2017, Fr. Stephen Gerdes the Treasurer General of SVD Congregation from Rome, released an audio CD titled ‘Hati Kwthar’ (Holy Week), in Ambassa on the occasion of 25 years of SVD presence in the Northeast India. The hymns are in Kokborok language, composed by Fr. Ivan D’ Silva, svd the Secretary for the commission for social communication of Agartala Diocese. All the 10 hymns sung by renowned singers of Tripura for the occasion of Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter. The hymns are very melodious to sing and hear. “Both lyrics and composition really touches the heart” says, Dr. Asok Debbarma. Thanks to Fr. Ivan for his contribution towards the Kokborok liturgy through the hymns. He has composed few more which are ‘logesong’ hymn book and often they are used during the worship.
