Saarbrücken, January 25, 2015 (SIGNIS/Interfilm): For the first time, the Ecumenical Jury awarded a prize at the 36th Filmfestival Max Ophüls Preis in Saarbrücken, Germany. The Ecumenical Prize, endowed with 2000 € by the Catholic and the Evangelical educational organisations in the Saarland, was given to the film "Driften" by Karim Patwa (Switzerland, 2014).

"The thrill of speed ends with the death of a child. Mother and driver meet. Guilt and atonement, loss and love, closeness and distance - in its subtle play Driften touches the audience’s sense and sensibility."

The members of this first Jury were: Dietmar Adler (Germany, President), Gerhard Alt (Germany), Vesna Andonovic (Luxembourg) and Oliver Gross (Austria).
