SIGNIS India (World Catholic Association for Communication) along with Mother Teresa’s Missionaries of Charity and the Archdiocese of Calcutta hosted the 4th edition of the Mother Teresa International Film Festival (MTIFF4) from 26 to 29 August 2016, at Nandan, Kolkata.

 

 

 

 

The Festival had 22 best National and International Films ever made on Mother Teresa which included 2 World Premieres and 6 Directors in attendance. There were 66 Screenings in 4 halls of Nandan Multiplex which was freely offered by Govt of West Bengal.  There was special Screening for the specially abled persons in one of the halls. More than 40000 people came to take part in the MTIFF.  

The Festival was Inaugurated on 26th August by lighting lamp by one of Inmates of Shishu Bhavan, Children home run by Missionaries of Charity Sisters. Archbishop Thomas D’Souza, CEO of Nandan , Sr Laisa MC, Mr Sunil Lucas President Signis India were the guests at the Inaugurations function. The festival was concluded on 29th Evening by symbolically handing over the DVD’s to Fr Victor Vijay Lobo Secretary Signis India to be screened in other parts of the Country.  The MTIFF will be organised in 50 others centres of country. Mr Sunil Lucas President Signis India is the director of MTIFF4.

 

 

 

 

 

 

The first MTIFF was held in 2003 immediately after mother Teresa’s beatification, the second on her 10th death anniversary in 2007 while the third edition, in 2010, marked her birth centenary.
